ふじのくに学（森林生態系からの恵み）

10 月 5 日に、ふじのくに学（森林生態系からの恵み）が開催されました。 今回は、静岡大学の５つの学部、静岡県立大学、静岡産業大学、浜松医科大学と、実に多くの大学から 20 名の学生が集まりました。 富士山の富士宮口五合目から宝永火口にかけての歩道を歩きながら、 標高に沿って変化する植生や樹形の様子や、その成り立ちについて、同地での様々な研究事例を紹介しながら学んでもらいました。 本実習は留学生を積極的に受け入れていることも特徴で、今回も 5 人の留学生が参加してくれました。 雨天という残念さはありましたが、日本人学生と留学生が積極的に交流しながら、楽しそうに実習に取り組んでいる姿が印象的でした。

Fujinokuni Studies (Ecosystem services from various forests in Fuji-no-kuni) was held at the Fuji Branch on 5th October. This year, 20 students from universities in Shizuoka prefecture participated, including five faculties of Shizuoka University, University of Shizuoka, Shizuoka Sangyo University, and Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. We walked along the trail from the the Fujinomiya 5th station to the Hoei Crater and learned about the vegetation that change along the elevation and its formation. One of the unique features of this program is that it encourages the participation of international students, and five international students participated in this year's practice. Unfortunately it was raining, but it was so impressive to see Japanese and international students actively interacting with each other and enjoying the field.

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
