11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. 11/16 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前中は、無花粉スギの植栽地を見学しながら、コンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて説明しました。 実際に刈り払い鎌や刈り払い機を持って歩いてみて、斜面での刈り払いが骨の折れる作業であることを実感してもらいました。 その後、野生動物による林業被害対策について説明しました。狩猟免許を持っている宇佐美さんに依頼し、箱罠やくくり罠が動作する様子を見てもらいました。 午後は、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、のこぎりで枝を落とす難しさ、ヒノキのにおいなどさまざま感じてもらうことができ、 ふだんなかなかできない体験ということで非常に好評でした。 植え付けから間伐まで林業のサイクル（の一部）を体験することで、林業を身近に感じる機会になっていればうれしいです。 みなさんおつかれさまでした。 （栗） On November 16th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. 11/18 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。お昼過ぎまでマツ林の除伐と地かき（かき起こし）を行いました。低木が密集して生えているマツ林に面食らっていた様子でしたが、なたやのこを使って木を倒す作業に精力的に取り組んでくれ、作業後にはすっきりしたマツ林になりました。その後、枯れたアカマツの伐倒作業を見学し、マツノマダラカミキリ幼虫を駆除するための材の燻蒸処理の準備を行いました。さいごに、除伐した広葉樹低木やその他の材を使って、木工体験を行いました。木工を楽しみながら、樹種による材の特性のちがいなどを学んでもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 風の冷たい、非常に寒い 1 日でしたが、実際に森林整備を体験することで、林業を身近に感じる機会になっていればうれしいです。みなさんおつかれさまでした。 （栗） On November 18th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we went to a pine forest to clear broad-leaved trees and conducted scarification. Although students seemed puzzled by the pine forest with its dense shrubs, they worked energetically to fell the shrubs using a saw and a machete. In the afternoon, we learned about how to cut a pine snag by using a chainsaw and prepared for fumigation treatments of pine logs to eradicate larvae of longhorn beetles. 11/19 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。午前中にはマツ林の除伐と地かき（かき起こし）を行いました。はじめは斜面での作業に苦労していた様子でしたが、広葉樹をばしばし倒して、作業後には林床に光が差すようになりました。午後は技術職員によるヒノキ伐倒作業を見学したり、択伐林や隣接する広葉樹林をめぐりながら環境保全と調和した森林管理について学んだりしました。 精力的に林内作業にも取り組みながら、静岡県の林業を学ぶよい機会になったのではないかとおもいます。少しタフなメニューだったかもしれませんが、みなさんおつかれさまでした。 （栗） On November 19th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we went to a pine forest to clear broad-leaved trees and conducted scarification. The students were most impressed with this experience, as it was a rare opportunity for them. In the afternoon, we learned about how to cut a cypress tree by using a chainsaw and forest management in harmony with environmental conservation by observing areas that had been selectively logged and an adjacent broad-leaved forest. I think it was a good opportunity to learn the forestry in Shizuoka Prefecture through working energetically in the forest. It may have been a tough day, but everyone did a great job. Kurihara

11/20 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前中にはマツ林の除伐と地かき（かき起こし）作業を行いました。広葉樹が侵入して暗かった林も、作業後にはすっかり明るくなりました。 午後にはどんぐりと動物の関わりを学ぶメニューに再挑戦しました。今回はネズミがマテバシイとクヌギの堅果を持ち去る様子がばっちり撮影されていました。最後にヒノキの植栽体験をしました。木を植える体験はなかなかできないということで、授業後アンケートではいちばん好評でした。 実習名のとおり、林内作業の多い 1 日でした。外で活動する機会も減っているためか、夕方にはみなさんおつかれの様子でしたが、それだけ充実した 1 日になったのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） On November 20th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. 9/17-18 は天竜ブランチで「ふじのくに学：静岡県の農林業」の 2 回目が行われました。静岡県内の大学が連携した「ふじのくに地域・大学コンソーシアム（http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/）」の教育連携の一環として行われており、今回は県内 2 大学からなんと 40 名弱の学生が参加しました。 前回同様、1 日目は午前中に育種場へ。どのように林木の苗木が生産・育種がされているのかを、見学しました。1 日目の午後から 2 日目は演習林で森林観察と林業体験を行いました。 あいにくの雨でスケジュールを変更して行いましたが、枝打ち・間伐や樹種識別テストなど、みなさん精力的に取り組んでいた様子でした。 （栗） On 9/17-18, "Fujinokuni Studies: Agriculture and forestry" was held at the Tenryu branch again. 怒濤の実習ラッシュです。8/26-27 に「ふじのくに学：静岡県の農林業」が天竜ブランチで行われました。 静岡県内の大学が連携した「ふじのくに地域・大学コンソーシアム（http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/）」の教育連携の一環として行われており、今回は県内 4 大学のさまざまな学部からおよそ 30 名の学生が参加しました。 1 日目は午前中に育種場へ。どのように林木の苗木が生産・育種がされているのかを、見学してきました。午後は演習林へ移動し、林内をハイキングしながら樹木について学びました。 2 日目は森林観察と林業体験。森林観察では天然林と人工林の比較を通して森林管理について学びました。林業体験では恒例の枝打ち・間伐体験を行いました。昨年は林業体験が大好評でしたが、今年はちょっとたいへんそうでしたかね。しかし雨が降る前に全日程終えることができ、ほっとしました。 （栗） On 8/26-27, "Fujinokuni Studies: Agriculture and forestry" was held at the Tenryu Branch. 先月末、8月28-29日に行われたコンソーシアムの実習、「静岡県の農林業」の二日目の様子を紹介をします。 この日は、森林観察で天然林と人工林の違いを学ぶとともに、森林施行のうちの”枝打ち”と"間伐"を体験してもらいました。 写真は一本梯子で枝打ちをしているところです。 はじめはおっかなびっくりで作業していた学生も、終わる頃には4mの梯子の最上部まで登って汗を流していました。 大変さだけでなく、達成感も得られたのではないでしょうか？ 製材された板などの「節（ふし）」を見たときは、ぜひこの体験を思い出してくださいね！ さてさて。次回からは、今日が最終日の公募型実習「富士・南アルプス生態学実習」、そして今日から始まる「森林保全業務インターンシップ」の様子を紹介していこうと思います。 （鶴）

今日から「ふじのくに学：静岡県の農林業」という実習で、25名ほどの学生が天竜ブランチに来ています！ この実習は、静岡県内の諸大学が連携した「ふじのくに地域・大学コンソーシアム（http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/）」の教育連携の一環として行われています（短期集中単位互換授業）。 参加学生は県内の大学生、専攻は林学や生態学に関連する分野に限らず、工学部や文系の学生も参加しています。 タイトルの講座の開講はこれで3回目となり、今回はいよいよ我らが林業について！ 今日は育種場（西部緑化センター）で、どのように林木の苗木が生産・育種がされているのかを、見学してきました。 明日は森林観察と林業体験です！ 多くの学生に森林に興味を持ってもらう機会になればと思っています。 （鶴）
