ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/19 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。午前中にはマツ林の除伐と地かき（かき起こし）を行いました。はじめは斜面での作業に苦労していた様子でしたが、広葉樹をばしばし倒して、作業後には林床に光が差すようになりました。午後は技術職員によるヒノキ伐倒作業を見学したり、択伐林や隣接する広葉樹林をめぐりながら環境保全と調和した森林管理について学んだりしました。

精力的に林内作業にも取り組みながら、静岡県の林業を学ぶよい機会になったのではないかとおもいます。少しタフなメニューだったかもしれませんが、みなさんおつかれさまでした。

On November 19th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we went to a pine forest to clear broad-leaved trees and conducted scarification. The students were most impressed with this experience, as it was a rare opportunity for them. In the afternoon, we learned about how to cut a cypress tree by using a chainsaw and forest management in harmony with environmental conservation by observing areas that had been selectively logged and an adjacent broad-leaved forest.

I think it was a good opportunity to learn the forestry in Shizuoka Prefecture through working energetically in the forest. It may have been a tough day, but everyone did a great job.

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
