天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 2）が実施されました。(https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604) 農学部の 1 年生 19 人が参加し、今回も森林科学の基礎（植物・動物・木の計測・UAV）を学ぶ 4 つのメニューを実施しました。今回も 1 日目は雨の中活動しましたが、2 日目は晴れて暑いくらいの 1 日になりました。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch on 31st May and 1st June (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). 天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 1）が実施されました。 (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604)  今回は農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。 久しぶりに宿泊形式で開催し、2 日間で森林科学の基礎を学ぶメニューを実施しました。 1 日目は残念ながら雨だったので、あらかじめ採取したサンプルを使って、室内で樹種同定に取り組みました。 紙の図鑑に加え、iPad アプリとして整備した自作のデジタル植物図鑑を活用しながら、 みなさん熱心に樹木を検索している様子がみられました。 夕方に雨が小降りになったので、ネズミ調査用のシャーマントラップを設置に行きました。 2 日目は朝からフィールドへ。幸運にもアカネズミを捕獲することができ、実物を観察しながら、ネズミが森で果たす役割について解説しました。 また、1 日目に予定していた、樹木の計測やドローンを用いた森林調査についてのメニューも実施することができました。 宿舎では簡易的なツルグレン装置を使って、土壌動物の観察を行いました。 朝活動した場所でリターの分解に貢献している多様な土壌動物を実際に見ることができました。 あいにくの天気でしたが、みなさん積極的に活動に参加している姿が印象的でした。 まだまだ紹介できていない内容もたくさんあるので、卒業までにまた演習林を訪れていただければとおもいます。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch on 17th and 18th May (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). 天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 1）が実施されました(https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604)。今回は農学部の 1 年生 17 人が参加しました。森林科学の基礎を学ぶ 4 つのメニューを実施しました。 植物：スタッフの自作した演習林植物データベースを活用して、植物同定の実習を行いました。葉の付き方などの形態的な特徴をもとに自身で iPad で検索を行い、樹種の識別に取り組んでもらいました。 動物：毎回恒例のメニューになっている、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。ハクビシンがネズミ遺体を食べる動画が撮影されており、当日ヨツボシモンシデムシがネズミ遺体を動かしている様子を実際に見ることもできました。 木の計測：さまざまな道具を使って木の胸高直径や高さを計測し、1 本のヒノキがどれくらいの炭素を蓄積しているかを実際に計算しました。参加したみなさんはヒノキ 1 本の炭素固定量を多い？少ない？どう感じたでしょうか。 UAV：皆伐地で操縦体験をし、UAV で撮影した写真から作成した 3D モデルを紹介しました。広範囲を短時間で計測できる UAV の威力を実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 あたたかい 1 日で快適に野外活動を行うことができました。実際に生物に触れながら、最先端の技術まで学ぶ、演習林ならではの有意義な実習になりました。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch on 11th May (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). 天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 2）が実施されました。 (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604) 今回も農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。 午前は、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。今回は天気がよかったこともあり、さまざまな哺乳類が撮影されましたが、アカネズミがハツカネズミの遺体を持ち去ろうとしている興味深い行動が撮影されていました。 午後は、植物同定と樹木の炭素固定量推定に加え、UAV の操縦体験を実施することができました。ひとりずつ UAV を操縦し写真撮影をしてもらった後、自動操縦のデモを行ったり、写真から作成した 3D モデルの説明をしたりしました。 森林調査や森林管理における UAV の有用性を実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch last Saturday (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). 天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 1）が実施されました。(https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604) 今回は農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。 午前は、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。月曜日に林内に設置しておいたネズミ遺体はすべて跡形もなく消失しており、動物遺体がすばやく分解されることを実感することができました。カメラにはタヌキがネズミを食べる様子がばっちり映っており、昆虫トラップに入っていたヨツボシモンシデムシやセンチコガネを直接見ることができました。 午後は、植物同定と樹木の炭素固定量推定を行いました。植物同定では、葉の付き方や匂い、形態的な特徴をもとに 24 種の樹種の識別に取り組んでもらいました。やや苦戦したかもしれませんが、あれこれ意見を交換しながら真剣に植物と向き合っている様子が印象的でした。 樹木の炭素固定量推定では、さまざまな道具を使って木の胸高直径や高さ、密度を計測してもらい、1 本のヒノキがどれくらいの炭素を蓄積しているかを実際に計算しました。「カーボンニュートラル」という単語をよく聞く世の中になりましたが、参加したみなさんはヒノキ 1 本の炭素固定量を多い？少ない？どう感じたでしょうか。 残念ながら朝から雨模様でしたが、なんとか演習林ならではの体験を楽しんでもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch last Saturday (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). 天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 2）が実施されました（https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604）。今回も農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。雨天続きでしたが、幸運にも当日は降られずに済みました。 その 2 ということで、メニューは前回と同じです。午前は、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。今週はシデムシが埋めたネズミ死体がほぼ分解されており、生物遺体の分解についてより実感できる内容となりました。クロシデムシもなかなかの迫力でした（ベイトとして使った鶏肉の臭いに辟易としている感じはありましたが……）。 午後は、森林観察・チェーンソー体験・ドローン操縦体験を行いました。森林生態、林業活動、そして最新の森林モニタリング方法まで、1 年生向けの導入実習としては非常に盛りだくさんな内容となりました。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch last Saturday (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604).
