富士・南アルプス生態学実習

8/5-8/8 に富士・南アルプス生態学実習を開催しました。 今年は全国 10 大学から集まった 25 名の学部生・大学院生が参加しました。

天竜ブランチ（8/5）
観音の森で樹種同定に取り組んだ後、毎木調査を行い、森林の階層構造データから観音の森の成立過程について考えました。 みなさん iPad アプリとして整備した植物図鑑を使いこなしていましたが、毎木調査中に高木の葉を見て樹種を記録するのには苦労していたようです。

 天竜ブランチ→南アルプスブランチ（8/6）
 午前中はヒノキ間伐地や SSS を見学しながら環境保全と調和した人工林管理の実践について学びました。 また、観音の森で動物遺体の分解と腐肉食者群集をテーマにしたメニューを行い、 腐肉の種類や大きさによって、誘引される昆虫の種構成や個体数が異なることを学びました。 夕方、南アルプスの山犬段宿舎へ。みなさん体力が有り余っていたようで、植物を集めに行き自主的に樹種同定に取り組むなど意欲的なヒトたちもいました。

 南アルプスブランチ（8/7）
午前中は大規模崩壊地（ホーキナギ）の見学を含め、山犬段周辺の土砂移動と山腹工事について解説されました。 朝からあやしい天気でしたが、崩壊の激しい大井川流域で森林防災の実際について学ぶことができました。 午後の森林観察では冷温帯林を構成する樹種についてじっくり学び、シカ柵内外の植生をみながらスズタケの一斉開花枯死とその後の更新にシカがおよぼす影響について解説しました。 

富士ブランチ（8/8）
富士山 5 合目付近で樹木限界の植生と生態・亜高山帯針広混交林の生態について学習しました。

 4 日間で暖温帯林・冷温帯林・森林限界をめぐることで、ふだんは観察することができない植生を見て植物を学ぶことができたと好評でした。 暑い時期でしたが、標高の高い南アルプスや富士山では快適に活動できたのではないかとおもいます。みなさんおつかれさまでした。

Ecological practice around Mt.Fuji was held on August 5-8, 2025. There were 25 participants from 10 universities across Japan. 

At Tenryu Branch (Aug 5-Aug 6)
We learned about the ecology of warm-temperate evergreen forests through species identification of trees and vegetation surveys in the Kannon Forest, and about the ecological restoration of planted forests through visits to thinning areas and the SSS. We also conducted a survey on carcass decomposition and the community of scavenging insects. 

At South Alps Branch (Aug 7)
We learned about the sediment transport phenomenon of the Hoki-nagi landslide and the hillside construction, the ecology of cool-temperate deciduous broad-leaved forests with high species diversity, and impacts of deer on vegetation and arthropod community. The weather was iffy, but fortunately we were able to see the collapse site and enjoyed learning about the tree species in the cool-temperate forest. 

At Mt. Fuji (Aug 8)
We learned vegetation and ecology of tree line and subalpine mixed coniferous forests around the fifth station of Mt. Fuji. 

We visited warm-temperate forests, cool-temperate forests, and forest limits over the four days, and most students said it was good to be learn about vegetation and plants they would not usually be able to observe. Although it was extremely hot during this season, I believe it was comfortable to engage in activities in the high-altitude areas of the South Alps and Mt. Fuji.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
