静岡大学農学部オープンキャンパス・オプショナルセミナー「森林生態系と自然環境を学ぶフィールド体験学習」

9/24 に静岡大学農学部オープンキャンパス・オプショナルセミナー「森林生態系と自然環境を学ぶフィールド体験学習」を天竜ブランチで開催しました。今年から始めた取り組みで、今回は静岡県・愛知県から 4 名の高校生が参加してくれました。

講義室で演習林の説明をしてさっそくフィールドへ。葉の特徴から植物を識別する方法や森林調査のための UAV の操縦体験、森林管理と災害防止に果たす役割など、実物に触れながら大学生向けに実施している実習の一部を体験してもらいました。さいごに講義室に戻ってカメラで撮影された演習林内の哺乳類について解説し、おみやげには演習林産のコースターをプレゼントしました。

秋晴れの気持ちのよい 1 日で、演習林を十分満喫してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。また高校での学習や今後の進路に役立つ活動となっていればうれしいです。

"Field study to learn about forest ecosystems" for high school students was held at the Tenryu Branch on 24th September. This program was held for the first time, and four high school students from Shizuoka and Aichi prefectures participated this year.

They experienced a part of the field practice for university students, such as how to identify plants based on their leaf characteristics, how to operate a UAV for forest survey, and the role of forests in disaster prevention. At the end of the day, we gave a presentation on mammals in the forest taken by camera in the lecture room, and gave them coasters made in the forest as souvenirs.

It was a pleasant day in clear autumn weather, and we hope that the students were able to fully enjoy our forest and the activities will be useful for their studies in high school and for their future career paths.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
