環境フィールドワーク

今週 7/24 に天竜ブランチで環境フィールド科学演習が行われ (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=618)、東海大学より 13 名が参加しました。

森林パートでは、土壌断面の観察を行い、土壌の違いが植生や樹木の成長と関連することを学習しました。また、土壌を採取して、土壌層位ごとの透水性の違いも実験を通して学習しました。渓流パートでは西阿多古川の流量計算を行うとともに、pH や電気伝導度を計測し、河川における物質輸送について学びました。

たいへん暑い 1 日でしたが、みなさん集中して活動に取り組んでいました。今年初めて透水性試験を実施しましたが、森林と渓流のつながりについてより深く理解することができたのではないかとおもいます。

Practices in Environment Field Science was held at Tenryu Branch this week (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=618). Thirteen students from Tokai University participated in the practice.

Students observed soil profiles and learned that different soil types are related to vegetation and vegetation growth. They also collected soil samples and studied the differences in permeability of different soil strata through experiments. In Nishiatago river, they learned about material transport in riverine ecosystems by calculating the flow rate of the river and measuring pH and electrical conductivity of the water.

It was a very hot day, but everyone concentrated on the activities. This was the first time for us to conduct a permeability conductivity test in this practice, and we believe that the participants were able to understand better the relationships between forests and streams.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
