ガチ！生物多様性塾が演習林渓流にて開催

8 月 14 日、浜松市にある昆虫食倶楽部主催の「ガチ！生物多様性塾」のメンバー小学生 6 人、中学生 4 人、高校生 2 人が演習林の渓流スポットで野外学習を行いました．講義室で，森林の生態系サービスや水にかかわる森の働きについてメカニズムを学んだあと，演習林宿舎横の西阿多古川の渓流でフィールドワークを行いました．台風明けの増水した川での活動でしたが，ライフセイバーの資格を持つ多様性塾スタッフの指導のもと安全なフィールドワークが行われました．フィールドワークでは採取した魚の解剖を行い食物連鎖について学びました．残念ながら増水の影響で魚たちの胃内の食物は貧しかったようです．子供たちが，真摯に，しかし活発に楽しみながら課題に取り組んでいる様子が伺えました．

On August 14, six elementary school students, four junior high school students, and two high school students from the Biodiversity School in Hamamatsu City had an outdoor learning experience at a stream spot in our experimental forest. After learning about forest ecosystem services and the function of forests in relation to water in the lecture room, the students conducted fieldwork along the Nishi-Atago River next to our dormitory. The students learned about the food chain by dissecting the fish they collected. Unfortunately, due to the rising water, there was not much food in the stomachs of the fish. They earnestly and actively engaged in the fieldwork.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
