3 年ぶりの富士・南アルプス生態学実習を開催

一昨年，昨年と実習を取りやめていた公募型の富士・南アルプス生態学実習を8月8～10日に実施することができました． 参加者は全国 14 大学から集まった 20 名と静岡大学の 6 名の 26 名でした．参加者は意欲的で反応が良く，ついつい我々スタッフが時間を忘れるほどでした．学生も我々同様フィールドワークに飢えていたという印象を受けました．

8月8日　天竜ブランチにて．

8月9日　南アルプスブランチにて．
ホウキナギの土砂移動現象・種の多様性の高い太平洋型冷温帯落葉広葉樹林・シカが植生と節足動物相に及ぼすインパクト
8月10日　富士南麓にて．
樹木限界の植生と生態・亜高山帯針広混交林の生態　

暖温帯から樹木限界まで，様々な森林を文字通り駆け足で見て回りました．それぞれの植生帯の特徴を実感できたと思います．それぞれの場所で森林が複雑な系であることを学んでいただけたと思います．

実習は順調に済んだのですが，最後の富士山からの下山中にバスがクラッチ故障のトラブルで動けなくなり，スカイライン内の高鉢駐車場で立往生しました．バスの代車救援がかなり遅れるとのことで，タクシーで新富士まで全員を運ぶというハプニングが生じました．担当スタッフの臨機応変の対応で，全国各地に無事帰宅できたようです．

コロナ第 7 波の中での実習だったわけですが，様々な細心の感染症対策を取りながら，なんとか行うことができたことに得られた喜びは大きいものがありました．

Ecological practice around Mt.Fuji was held on August 8-10, 2022. There were 26 participants, 20 from 14 universities across Japan and 6 from Shizuoka University. The participants were enthusiastic and responsive, so we also enjoyed the practice so much that we lost track of time.

At Tenryu Branch (Aug 8)
Ecology of warm-temperate evergreen forests, ecosystem restoration of planted forests, and decomposition of animal carcasses in forest ecosystems.
At South Alps Branch (Aug 9)
Sediment transport phenomenon of the Hoki-nagi landslide, cool-temperate deciduous broad-leaved forests with high species diversity, impacts of deer on vegetation and arthropod community
At Mt. Fuji (Aug 10)
Vegetation and ecology of tree line and subalpine mixed coniferous forests　

We literally ran through a variety type of forests from warm-temperate to tree line. We hope that the students were able to learn the characteristics of each vegetation zone and understand that forests are complex systems. The practice went well, but on the last day, the bus was stuck due to clutch trouble... We urgently called taxies, and all the students were able to return home safely.

It was a great pleasure to be able to conduct the field practice while taking careful countermeasures against infection in the midst of the seventh wave of COVID-19.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
