上阿多古小学校出張授業

6月1日　上阿多古小学校5・6年生対象の野外授業を行いました．昨年11月に3年生対象に行った樹木の見分け方の授業です．見分け方だけでなく，葉の形の持つ様々な役割を考えながら学びとなりました．昨年同様，タラヨウの葉の裏でのお絵かきは人気で定番になってしまいました．山間地の児童らしく，いくつかの木の名前をすでに知っていました．教える前から名前を言い当てていた樹木，ソメイヨシノ，キンモクセイ，カキノキ，サルスベリ，ヤマモモ，ヒイラギ，カリン　などでした．樹木の名前を覚えるのも正確で，樹木のネームプレートづけも逡巡なく正しい樹木に取りつけることができました．普段の生活で自然に親しむことが子供たちの知識を確かなものにしているように感じました．

We conducted a special class on trees for 5th and 6th graders of Kamiatago Elementary School. The students learned not only how to identify trees, but also the various roles of the leaf shape. They already knew the names of some of the trees and were also able to remember the names of the trees correctly and attach the name plates to the correct trees. I felt that the familiarity with nature in their daily lives helped to solidify their knowledge.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
