環境フィールドワークI

先週、天竜ブランチでは、学内実習の環境フィールドワーク I が実施されました (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=1997)。

午前中は 2 班に分かれて植生断面図の作成と、土壌呼吸の測定を行いました。植生断面図の作成では、野生植物分類学で習ったことを思い出しながら 、木々を確認して、スケッチしていました。土壌呼吸の測定では、専用の装置を用いて比較的明るい尾根筋と、そうでない暗いところの二酸化炭素放出速度を比較しました。また、土壌水分の測定も行いました。午後は 3 班に分かれて 100 年生林の毎木調査を行いました。歩きなれない様子でしたが、黙々と胸高直径と樹高を測定していました。

Last week, the Environmental Fieldwork I was held at the Tenryu Branch (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=1997&lang=en).

In the morning, the students learned about hierarchical structure of forest by drawing cross-sections of vegetation and differences in soil respiration between ridges and valleys. In the afternoon, they conducted vegetation survey in the 100-year-old forest. It may be hard for them to walk around the forest, but they concentrated on measuring the diameter at breast height and tree height.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
