森林保全学実習

お久しぶりです。ずいぶんと更新が滞ってしまいました。7月の東海大学の実習を紹介してからは、1～2週間毎に実習やイベントがあるタフな夏で、報告する時間をなかなか作ることができませんでした。もうかなり寒くなりましたが、夏の森林保全学実習から順番に振り返っていきたいと思います。

森林保全学実習　8/27～30
全国の大学から学生公募して、天竜、南アルプス、富士フィールドを巡り、森林保全を学ぶ実習です。今年は、7大学から15人の学生が参加してくれました。大きな流れは昨年と同じですが、ドローンやレーザースキャナーを新たに利用するなど、各メニューを工夫しています。ライトセンサスはコースによってシカの頭数がかなり異なったため、観察コースづくりは来年の課題ですね・・・。雨続きだった富士山もくっきりと見ることができて、楽しく学習してもらえたのではないかと思います。来年もさらなる内容の充実を図るので、皆さん来てくださいねー。

Long time no see. We have held six field lectures and events until Novemeber and thus could not make a time to report. Although winter is comming in Japan, I would like to introduce the lectures in turn.
First is a field lecture for forest preservation held in the end of August. This is an open lecture that students in every University can participate. In this year, there was 15 students' entry from seven University. We have visited three fields that had contrast vegetation and that convered all of reperesentative forest vegetation in Japan. We newly introduced UAV and ground-based high resolution laser scanner for a lecture in Tenryu field. In South Alps field, I could watich ten deers in night driving, although other groulds could not see so much. In Fuji field, weather is unusually good and student could enjoy beautifull appearance of Mt. Fuji.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
