今、海外向けフィールドセミナーの真っ最中です（他にもたくさん実習をしたのですが、また後日に報告したいと思います） We are now in the middle of field seminar for foreign students, entitled "Field seminar around Mt. Fuji".

天竜森林管理署と静岡大学は、森林に関する研究開発や人材育成の推進のために、相互協力協定を11月６日に締結します。それを記念して、森林の保全と管理に関する講演と、天竜フィールドと隣接する国有林の見学会を開催します： 日時　11月6日　10:00受付　午前　講演会　午後　見学会 場所　なゆた浜北 ＊注：　ポスターでは、10:45～16:30となっていますが、講演は午前のみです。午後からの演習林見学は自由参加です。 （詳細はポスターをご覧下さい） みなさまのご参加を待っています！ Agreement for mutual forest use to develop research and human resource is concluded between Shizuoka University and Tenryu forest office. 天竜フィールドで森林と河川の物質循環とそのつながりについて、野外講義を行いました。森林では、ヒノキ人工林と天然性広葉樹林において葉リタ－の分解試験や土壌呼吸測定を行い、森林タイプによる物質循環の違いなどを説明しました。河川では、森林から流入した物質や土砂がどのように輸送されるのか、そのしくみを解説しました。いい天気でしたが、とても暑かったです。 Field lecture, carbon and nitrogen flux of forest ecosystem and its linkage with river ecosystem, was held on 24th July in Tenryu field. ヒノキ人工林における説明の様子 Field lecture at Hinoki (Chamaecyparis obtusa) plantation. I have explained process of carbon and nitrogen flux in forest ecosystem and its difference with stand structure (e.g. age, species composition etc..). リタ－分解の実演 Litter-bag experiment. 努力は必ずしも報われない Effort does not always pay off （＊枝のつもりで背筋を伸ばしていますが、残念ながら丸見えです　He tries to be twig with straightening back, but the color is completely different!） 

南アルプスフィールドのツリーウォーク足場が完成しました！ 下から樹木を眺めていたのでは、樹木の特徴はよくわかりませんが、こうした足場を使うことで、間近に観察することができます。 足場の中には、オオイタヤメイゲツ、ミズメ、ヒメシャラ、ブナ、ウラジロモミ、テツカエデ、コハクウンボク、タンナサワフタギ、アセビなど、多様な種があります。同じ場所に生えていますが、こうした種の生理機能（CO2吸収や水、養分利用）や構造（葉の付き方や枝ぶり）には、どのような違いがあるのかを調べる予定です。その取り組みの様子や結果を実習で紹介していけたらと思います。 Canopy-access tower was finished in the end of June. Now, we can access crown top of various tree species, such as Acer shirasawanum, Acer nipponicum, Fagus crenata, Betula grossa, Stewarita monadelpha, Abies homolepis, Styrax shiraianus, Symplocos coreana, Pieris japonica, and can watch their leaves, flowers and branching pattern in detail. We will start study investigating inter-species differences in structure and eco-physiological functions in this summer, to clarify importance of species diversity on ecosystem service. ヤマツツジが満開です　（南アルプスフィールド　5/28） Rhododendron kaempferi (azalea commonly seen in Japanese mountain area) is now in full bloom (28th May in South-Alps field).

南アルプスフィールドで、防鹿柵と木道を設置してきました。その様子を紹介します（2014/5/7～9）。 最近、シカによるササやウラジロモミ、キハダ、アブラチャンの食害がひどいので、200m分の防鹿柵を設置しました。 また、実習などで森林内を人が頻繁に歩くと、踏圧によって樹木の根が傷ついて樹木の生育に支障がでるため、木道を設置しました（まだ途中です）。少し狭いですが、実習や調査のときには、この場所を歩くようにしてくださいね。 South Alps Field (7-9th May) We have set up fence (having length of 200 m) to protect trees and dwarf bamboo (Sasa) from deer. Also, board-walk to protect trees' roots from tread pressure was constructed. Although width of the board-walk is a little narrow, please walk on boards when you attend our field lecture. 防鹿柵の設置　ササの多い場所はちょっと大変です Set up deer-fence in dense dwarf bamboo Walk-board and deer-fence 木道の支柱を、かけやで打ち込みます。この作業はとても筋力を必要としますが、よい運動になりました。 Very tough work,but good exercise for health 急な斜面では、木道が少し傾くため、滑り止めをつけます。写真ではわかりにくいですが、結構　斜面の急な場所です。 Installation of thin board to prevent slipping 地形によっては、橋のようになってしまうところも。 Walk-board set on steep slope
