上阿多古小学校出張授業

7/5 上阿多古小学校の 1-4 年生 7 名を対象に、校庭にすむ昆虫をテーマにした出張授業を行いました。 この日は 7/1 に設置したトラップを回収して、捕獲された昆虫を観察しました。 ハネカクシやケシキスイ、キノコムシなどの甲虫類を中心に、いろいろな昆虫（と節足動物）を見ることができました。 連日の暑さのせいか、お目当てのカブトムシやクワガタムシは入っていませんでしたが、 技術職員の宇佐美さんが日頃作成している標本を活用して、地域にすむ昆虫を紹介することができました。

今回は、ペットボトルでつくれるお手軽なトラップを使って、さまざまな食性の昆虫が身近にすんでいることを学び、 あわせて、昆虫どうしの被食・捕食関係や昆虫が生態系やヒトの生活にあたえる影響などをお話ししました。 校庭のどこどこにノコギリクワガタがいたとか、キツネの死体にハエがたくさん集まっていたとか、 みなさん好奇心旺盛で鋭い視点を持っているので、小学校に伺うたびに私も地域の自然について教えてもらっている気がします。

We conducted a special class on insects living around the school for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders of Kamiatago Elementary School. On this day, we observed insects captured by the traps set up on July 1. We were able to see several species of insects (and arthropods). Unfortunately, rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles we were looking for were not included. However, we were able to learn about a variety of insects living in Tenryu by using the specimens that Usami-san (technical staff) makes on a daily basis.

This time, we used easy-to-use traps made from plastic bottles to learn that a variety of insects with different food habits live around the school. We also talked about the predator-prey relationship between insects and their impact on the ecosystem and human life. We learn something about the nature of the area from the students with a sharp perspective every time we visit the elementary school.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
