静大南アルプスブランチ森林環境ツアー

9月30日(土)に南アルプスフィールドにて、川根本町との共催で「静大南アルプスブランチ森林環境ツアー」と銘打った公開講座を開催しました。当日は川根本町にお住いの方を中心に15名の方に参加していただきました。朝から曇天模様で、開始前まで小雨も降って心もとない天候かと思われましたが、レクチャーが始まるとすっかり雨も止んで予定通り現地見学も実施できました。

午前中は、まず静岡大学が山犬段周辺で行っている事業紹介などをした後、南アルプスフィールド内にある崩壊地（ホーキナギ）の治山工事の様子を見学しながら、この地域の地質の成り立ちや山地崩壊のメカニズム、治山工事の施工方法について学びました。また、様々な褶曲構造や、崩壊地源頭部ならではの二重稜線の様子なども観察することが出来ました。

午後は宿舎周辺の広葉樹樹林の特徴や変遷について座学で学んだ後、周辺の林でオオイタヤメイゲツやアブラチャンなどの代表的な樹木を実際に観察しながらその生態や生存戦略についての説明をしました。また、スズタケの一斉開花と枯死、ニホンジカによる食圧の影響についても踏まえた林内を観察し、シカ防除柵を設置した試験地の中での植生回復の様子がどのように変遷してきたのか、その様子を実際に目で見て学習することができました。短い時間でしたが盛りだくさんの内容で、参加者の皆さんにも好評だったとうかがっています。

今回のイベントは、昨年度に川根本町と静岡大学で締結した「山岳環境の保全及び山村振興に関する協定書」をきっかけとして実施しました。今後も、地域の学校向け環境教育授業の開催などを通じて協力を続けていけたらと考えております。

A public lecture was held at the South Alps Branch in cooperation with Kawanehoncho town on September 30. Fifteen people, mostly residents of the town, attended the event.

In the morning, we learned about the geological formation around Yamainudan, the mechanism of mountain landslides, and construction methods of mountain control works at the Hoki-nagi (the largest landslide in this area).

In the afternoon, we observed the common tree species in this area (e.g., Acer shirasawanum, Lindera praecox) and learned about the ecology of deciduous broadleaf forests. We also observed vegetation recovery in a experimental site where a deer control fence had been installed and learned about mass flowering and death of bamboo (Sasa borealis) and the effects of feeding pressure by sika deer on vegetation.

This event was held based on the "Agreement on Conservation of Mountain Environment and Mountain Villages Development" signed last year between Kawanehoncho town and Shizuoka University. We hope to continue our cooperation in the future by holding environmental education classes for local schools. We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
