阿多古川の水生生物観察会

2023年8月12日、浜松魚部主催による阿多古川の水生生物観察会が行われました。観察場所は演習林の突端が阿多古川に接する場所で、多くの実習で活用されている場所です。浜松市等から多くの小学生が参加し、普段の生活圏ではない川の上流部、また、森林という環境に囲まれながら、一生懸命に魚の勉強に取り組みました。

前日夕方に仕掛けたトラップには、河川域で圧倒的に個体数の多いカワムツがたくさん入り、砂地に仕掛けたトラップにはカマツカも取れました。水中では、アユの姿を捉え、また、ボウズハゼは捕獲こそできませんでしたが、箱眼鏡越しに写真を撮ることに成功！

多くの魚類を観察でき、参加者の皆様には一様に良い経験ができたと喜んでもらえました。台風の影響が心配されましたが、無事に好条件で開催できたことに感謝し、参加者皆様の良い学習と、夏休みの貴重な体験になってもらえたら幸いです。

On 12th August, a nature observation event was held by the Hamamatsu fish club around the Atago river, where is used for many field practices. Many elementary school students from Hamamatsu City and other cities participated and worked to learn about fish in the upstream area of the river. Kawamutsu (Zacco temminckii), by far the most abundant species in the river area, and Kamatsuka (Pseudogobio esocinus), were captured in the traps set the previous evening. In the water, we were able to observe Ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis altivelis) and succeeded in taking a picture of Bouzuhaze (Sicyopterus japonicus) through our box glasses!

All the participants were happy to have had a good experience as they were able to observe many fish species. Although there were concerns about the impact of the typhoon, we are grateful that the event was held safely under favorable conditions, and we hope that it was a good learning experience for all the participants and a valuable experience during their summer vacation.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
