今週の日曜日 (11/14) 上阿多古小学校で開催されたぎんなん祭りにお招きいただきました。当日の様子は、上阿多古小学校の HP に掲載されています。 https://weblog.city.hamamatsu-szo.ed.jp/.../2021/11/01781/ 1・2 年生が「上阿多古動物の森にホールインワン」という動物にちなんだゴルフゲームを企画してくれていました。挑戦しましたが想像以上に難しい……。他の学年の児童たちの企画も楽しんで、ぎんなんをいただいて帰ってきました。 また引き続き出張授業などでおじゃまできればとおもいます。 （栗）

先週末 11/6 に静岡県立大学の「フィールドワーク実習」が天竜ブランチで行われました。 午前中はヒノキの植栽体験をしました。斜面での作業に苦労している様子でしたが、みなさん葉の裏表を見分けてしっかり植栽できていました。 その後、森林内にある樹種を学んだり、樹木の大きさや年輪の測定方法や UAV の操縦まで森林の調査方法をひととおり体験したりしました。また、ブナ科見本林で萌芽調査をし、最後に森林にすむ哺乳類について学びました（実は堅果と動物の関わりについて取り上げようと準備していたのですが、置いてある堅果には目もくれずまつぼっくりをくわえて走って行くリスが写っていただけでした……。） 全体として森林の測定方法に興味をもっていただいた方が多く、もっとも好評だったのはやはり UAV での操縦体験でした。もりだくさんの内容でしたが、みなさんおつかれさまでした。 （栗） Last weekend on November 6th, "Fieldwork Practice" for students from University of Shizuoka was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we experienced planting saplings of Japanese cypress. Although it was difficult to work on the slope, everyone was able to distinguish between the two sides of the leaves and plant the trees well. The students learned about the species of trees in the forest, and experienced a variety of forest survey methods, such as measuring the size and annual rings of trees and operating a UAV. After that, we conducted a survey for sprout characteristics of Fagaceae trees...

10/30 にふじのくに学（森林生態系からの恵み）の南アルプスパートが行われました。静岡県内の大学生 17 名と筑波大学・信州大学の大学院生各 1 名が参加しました。夕方冷え込みましたが天気に恵まれ、紅葉も富士山もきれいに見える実習日和の 1 日になりました。 最初に、冷温帯林を構成する主要樹種の判別方法やシカが植生にあたえる影響、進行中の樹木の生態生理学的研究についても紹介しました。その後、シカ柵内外を歩き回り、森林に残るシカの痕跡がどれくらい森林に残っているか調べました。 また、自動撮影カメラの動画を見てシカ柵が哺乳類の土地利用にあたえる影響について学びました。植物・動物それぞれを専門とする教員が同じテーマについて実習を行うことで、シカと森林の関わりについて、より理解を深めることができたようです。 天竜・富士と続いて、今回が本実習の最終回でした。身近にある多様な森林を訪れることで、森林生態系からの恵みを実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） On October 30th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Ecosystem services from various forests) was held in the South Alps Branch. Nineteen students from university in Shizuoka Prefecture, University of Tsukuba, and Shinshu University learned the functions and ecosystem services of forest ecosystems. It was a little cold, but a good day for field practice. First, we explained how to identify the major tree species in cool-temperate forests and the effects of deer on forest ecosystems, and also introduced ongoing study on tree ecophysiology. 学生時代に植生調査のアルバイト（野帳マン）をしていると、「チャボホトトギス」という名前が耳に飛び込んできました。チャボとホトトギス・・・植物名に鳥の名前が二つも冠されているとは、これいかに？とびっくりした覚えがあります。正体はユリ科ホトトギス属の草本でした。葉や花に現れる斑点模様が、鳥類のホトトギスのお腹の模様に似ているというのが通説のようです。さて天竜・南アルプスの両演習林ではホトトギスの仲間のうち、ホトトギス (Tricyrtis hirta)・ヤマジノホトギス (Tricyrtis affinis)・タマガワホトトギス (Tricyrtis latifolia) の 3 種が確認されています。チャボホトトギスも自生しているようですが、どうやら花が一日しか咲かないということで中々タイミングがあわず、開花写真をとれたためしがありません。 （宇；2021/10/13） The first time I heard of the plant Chabo-hototogisu (Tricyrtis nana) was when I was helping with a vegetation survey as a student. I remember being surprised to find two bird names (chabo [Japanese Bantam]; hototogisu [lesser cuckoo]) included in the plant name. It is a herbaceous plant in the genus Tricyrtis of the family Liliaceae, and its name comes from the fact that the pattern of spots on its leaves and flowers resembles the pattern on the belly of the bird lesser cuckoo. In the Tenryu and South Alps Branches, three species of Tricyrtis have been confirmed: Tricyrtis hirta, Tricyrtis affinis, and...
