演習林実習II

6 月 25 日，静岡県立農林環境専門職大学短期大学部の学生を対象に実習を行いました．

午前中は作業道開設の実習です．特に水の流れを考えた設計方法について開設予定現場を踏査しながら，地図上と現場のすり合わせについて議論しました．さらに重機を使った伐根作業の実習を行い，作業事故を防ぐための基本的な重機の取り扱いについて教授しました．

午後は，100 年生でも材積収穫最大に達さない実例や，群状択伐と生物多様性の維持を考えた持続的森林管理の実践例を紹介しました．早成（逝）樹やエリートツリーなど早期成長型の皆伐更新と対極にある生態系配慮型の森林経営に戸惑いを覚えたかもしれません．しかし次世代の地元の森林管理を担う彼らには，現在進められている林齢平準化の名の森林若返り政策とは別の森林管理の考え方も理解しておいてほしいと思いました．

100 年後 200 年後を考える時間スケールの視野を持って，それぞれの現場で活躍したいと願っています．

On June 25, we held a practical training for students of the Shizuoka Professional University Junior College of Agriculture. In the morning, we learned the construction of forest roads and practiced removing tree roots using heavy machinery. In the afternoon, we introduced a case where the timber harvest does not reach the maximum even after 100 years of age, and a practical example of sustainable forest management that conducts small-scale selective logging and considers maintenance of biodiversity. We hope that the students will play an active role in their fields with a time-scale perspective of 100 to 200 years from now.

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
