上阿多古小学校特別授業

上阿多古小学校 3 年生の授業は校庭内の樹木へのネームプレート作りです．

11 月ですから常緑樹が主体です．一つ一つ見分けるこつについて説明しました．山間の小学校の子供たちだけに日頃から樹木に馴染があるのか，よく木の名前を知っているなという印象でした．

大盛り上がりしたのは，タラヨウです．タラヨウの葉の裏に枝で字や絵を描いて字が浮かんでくる様子に大はしゃぎをしていました．ヒイラギについては子供たちも良く知っていて名前をすぐに出してくれましたが，ヒイラギのトゲトゲの葉が下のほうの枝に多く，樹木の上の方の葉にはトゲトゲがないことは初めての知識だったらしく，「なぜ」という疑問を持たせるよい機会になりました．

On November 26, 2020, we also held a special class for 3rd graders at Kamiatago Elementary School. In the class, we made plates for trees in the school yard. We explained how to identify the trees one by one. We got the impression that the children knew the names of the trees very well.

The children got attracted to the leaves of Ilex latifolia. They were excited to draw letters and pictures on the underside of the leaves with the branches. Additionally, it was the first time for them to know that the spiny leaves of Osmanthus heterophyllus are mostly on the lower branches and the leaves on the upper part of the tree do not have spiny leaves. It was a good opportunity for them to ask the question, "Why?".

ふじのくに学（農林業）

11/22 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前は、野生動物による林業被害対策について解説しました。 シカやカモシカが低木の葉を食べる動画を見たり、宿舎周辺で罠やシカ柵の実物を見たりしながら説明しました。 午後は、宿舎周辺でコンテナ苗の植え付けや下刈りについて解説したのち、ヒノキ林で枝打ちと間伐体験を行いました。 斜面で立木を伐倒するたいへんさ、枝打ちをする高さ、切りたてのヒノキのにおいなど実感してもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 みなさん林業とは関わりがうすい学部からの参加ということもあり、 実際に森林で活動することで林業に興味を持つきっかけになっていればうれしいです。 （栗）  On November 22nd, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we learned about measures to mitigate forestry damage caused by wild animals. Using videos of deer and serow feeding on shrub leaves, as well as showing actual traps and deer fences around the lodge, we explained how such damage occurs and how it is managed. In the afternoon, after we explained about planting container seedlings and weeding around the lodge, participants experienced pruning and thinning in a cypress forest. カーボンニュートラル（プレ）実習

次年度から開講予定のカーボンニュートラルフィールドワークに先立ち、主に静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の学生に参加してもらってプレ実習を開催しました。  1日目は、1本のヒノキがどれほどの炭素を蓄積してきたのか、実際に木を伐倒して推定しました。予想より小さい値であったようで、みなさん驚いていました。 2日目には、森林管理が短期的に、あるいは中・長期的にどのような効果をもたらすのかについて、間伐試験地などを見学しながら考える実習を行いました。 二酸化炭素吸収量の維持・増加を目指すために森林が重要という大まかなイメージは皆さんが持っていたものの、 森林管理がもたらす具体的な効果やその効果が現れるまでの時間についてはイメージができていないことが多かったようです。 この実習を通してその辺りの理解を深めていただけたのではないかと思います。  参加者からのフィードバックを参考にして、次年度からの実習をより良い形にしていきたいと思います。 （花） Ahead of the Carbon Neutral Fieldwork course scheduled to begin next academic year, we held a pre-training session, primarily for students in the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University.
