10月末に静岡大学の演習林発足60周年と国有林の保護林制度100周年を記念して、南アルプスフィールドにおいて植物観察会と公開講座を開催します。南アルプス一帯はユネスコエコパークに指定されており、演習林はその移行地域に位置しています。また、静岡新聞でも紹介されましたが、フィールド一帯でササの一斉開花が起こっており、数十年に一度の森林植生の大変化が今まさに始まろうとしています(http://www.at-s.com/news/detail/1174217013.html)。そんな南アルプスフィールドで、森林のミニ講義、植物観察会に参加してみませんか？　この時期は紅葉がきれいなはずです。みなさんのご参加をお待ちしています！ We will hold field, extension lecture in South Alps field on 31th Oct, in honor of the 60th anniversary of University's experimental forest and of the 100th anniversary of national reserved forest. South Alps is designated UNESCO eco-park and our field locates transition zone of the park. In addition, Dwarf bamboo in our field simultaneously flowered, which is big-event that occurs a once in several decades. You can study forest ecology and function with enjoying beautiful autumn leaves. The capacity of this lecture is 30 people. We are looking forward your entries.

南アルプスで、久しぶりに3泊4日の長めの野外調査をしてきました。写真は、そのときに撮影したウラジロモミの葉群です。展葉直後なのでしょうか、葉が裏返って白い花のように見えます。ウラジロモミの名前の由来がよくわかります。こうした植物のいろんな側面を観察できるのが野外研究の醍醐味のひとつです。 This photo is needles of Abies homolepis, Japanese fir distributing cool mountainous zone. This fir is called "fir having leaves white beneath" in Japanese. You can understand origin of the name from this photo. Needles at tip of shoot exhibit white colored beneath, probably because new needles just flushed recently.
