国際フィールド実習 Field Seminar in Temperate Forests around Mt. Fuji の報告つづき。天竜最終日には船明ダムを見学し、天竜川の流域管理について学びました。その後は南アルプスブランチへ移動。冷温帯林（太平洋側ブナ林）と崩壊地ホーキナギの観察を行いました。今年も雨模様でしたが、なんとかスケジュール通り実習を行うことができ、よかったですね。その後は富士山で森林限界を観察したり三保の松原を訪れたりしました。 アンケートを読むと、やはり富士山がいちばん好評でしたが、植物・動物・防災など回答はばらついていて、参加した学生が興味をもったメニューが非常に多岐にわたることがわかりました。中国、チェコ、インドネシア、マレーシア、タイ、ベトナム、日本の大学から参加してくれた 24 名のみなさま、ありがとうございました！ （栗） On the last day of stay in Tenryu, we visited the Funagira Dam and learned about the watershed management in Tenryu River Basin. After finishing all program at the Tenryu branch, we moved to the south alps branch. It was rainy this year too, but fortunately, we observed trees in cool-temperate forests and huge landslides (called as Hokinagi). Finally, we observed the timber line at the 5th station of Mt. Fuji and visited Miho-no-matsubara. Most students found the activities on Mt. 国際フィールド実習 Field Seminar in Temperate Forests around Mt. Fuji が無事に終了しました。前半 3 日間は天竜ブランチでみっちり実習。人工林での森林リハビリテーションや暖温帯林観察に加え、光合成や土壌呼吸、枯死木依存性食物網や哺乳類の食性評価などの選択実習が行われました。また、今年初めて採種園を訪れ、どのように優れた種子の選抜を行っているか見学しました。タイトなスケジュールでしたが、みなさんモチベーション高く取り組んでくれました。 （栗） Field Seminar in Temperate Forests around Mt. Fuji was held from 10/3 to 10/11. During the first three days, we stayed at the Tenryu branch. We learned about forest rehabilitation in conifer plantation and forest ecosystem in warm-temperate forests and had selective practice on photosynthesis, soil respiration, saproxylic food web, and dietary assessment of mammals. Additionally, we visited a seed orchard for the first time and learned how seeds of superior genetic quality are produced. The schedule was so tight but all students were highly motivated to engage in activities. Kurihara

フィールドレクチャーが終わったので実習シーズンもおしまい。今年度まだイベントはありますがとりあえず一段落。。。 動画は南アルプスブランチで撮影されたヤマドリのメスと幼鳥たち（フィールドレクチャーの様子はまたのちほど投稿します。

9/24 に上阿多古小学校で出張授業を行いました。今回は 5-6 年生を対象に、上阿多古の自然（植物と動物）をテーマにお話と実習を行いました。公開されている地質・植生のデータや演習林内に設置している自動撮影カメラの映像を紹介しながら、地域の自然についてお話ししました。 その後は体育館で、自動撮影カメラの使い方を説明し、どれくらいの範囲が撮影されるかカメラ前でみなさんにうろうろしてもらいました。みなさんカメラに興味津々でしたね。 今回の活動をふまえて、学校の敷地内にカメラを設置し、どんな動物が写るか調べるそうです。どんな動物が撮影されるか私も楽しみにしています。 授業の様子は、上阿多古小学校の HP にも掲載されています。 http://weblog.city.hamamatsu-szo.ed.jp/kamiatago-e/2019/09/01302/ （栗） On 9/24, we gave a lecture on the nature of Kamiatago at Kamiatago Elementary School. We talked about the geology and vegetation around the school and showed videos recorded by the automatic camera set in the Tenryu forest. After that, we explained how to use the automatic camera and students tried to determine the detection zone of the camera. I was relieved that everyone was really interested in cameras. Based on this activity, students will set cameras on the school grounds for mammal survey. I'm looking forward to seeing what animals will be photographed. Kurihara

9/17-18 は天竜ブランチで「ふじのくに学：静岡県の農林業」の 2 回目が行われました。静岡県内の大学が連携した「ふじのくに地域・大学コンソーシアム（http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/）」の教育連携の一環として行われており、今回は県内 2 大学からなんと 40 名弱の学生が参加しました。 前回同様、1 日目は午前中に育種場へ。どのように林木の苗木が生産・育種がされているのかを、見学しました。1 日目の午後から 2 日目は演習林で森林観察と林業体験を行いました。 あいにくの雨でスケジュールを変更して行いましたが、枝打ち・間伐や樹種識別テストなど、みなさん精力的に取り組んでいた様子でした。 （栗） On 9/17-18, "Fujinokuni Studies: Agriculture and forestry" was held at the Tenryu branch again. It was held as part of the educational cooperation of the "the Consortium of Universities and Local Communities in Shizuoka (http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/)" On the first day, we visited the forest tree breeding center and learned how the saplings of forest trees are produced and bred. After that, we observed forests and had experiences of pruning and thinning trees at the Tenryu branch. Unfortunately, it was raining, but everyone was working hard on such activities and the identification test of tree species. Kurihara

今週は 9/10-9/12 の 3 日間、静岡県立大学の「フィールドワーク実習」が天竜ブランチで行われていました。 初日は、演習林内をハイキングしながらみっちり樹木を学びました。その知識をもとにして、2-3 日目は、「動物の生息地としての森林」をテーマとした実習を行いました。野生動物の気持ちになって広葉樹林と針葉樹林で植物などを採集してもらい、採食効率を試算しました。 猛暑の中、森の中を歩き回るのはたいへんだったとおもいますが、みなさんのがんばりによって最終日のディスカッションは盛り上がりました。めでたしめでたし。 （栗） This week, "fieldwork practice" for students from University of Shizuoka was held at the Tenryu Branch. On the first day, we learned about trees by hiking in the forest. Based on this knowledge, we learned about "Forests as animal habitats" on Day 2-3. Students collected plants in broad-leaved forests and coniferous forests as if they were wild animals and calculated the feeding efficiency. It must have been hard to walk around in the forests because it was extremely hot. Thanks to everyone's hard work, the discussion on the last day was so interesting and exciting. Kurihara

先週 9/2 からの 5 日間、天竜では森林保全管理業務インターンシップ（後半）が行われていました。 http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=680 前半同様、演習林内での業務体験と、地元企業であるフジイチさんと天竜フォレスターさんに 1 日ずつおじゃましました。参加者全員、企業訪問が印象に残ったようで、とくに参加学生の 1 人は架線集材の技術に感動したとアンケートに書いていました。 （栗） Internship for Forest Management and Conservation was held last week! http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=680&lang=en Students thoroughly experienced the work in the experimental forests in Tenryu for three days and visited the companies in the Tenryu area, Fujichi and Tenryu Forester, one day each. All the students were impressed by their visits to the companies, and one of the participants in particular wrote in a questionnaire that she was surprised at the cable yarding system. Kurihara
