怒濤の実習ラッシュです。8/26-27 に「ふじのくに学：静岡県の農林業」が天竜ブランチで行われました。 静岡県内の大学が連携した「ふじのくに地域・大学コンソーシアム（http://www.fujinokuni-consortium.or.jp/）」の教育連携の一環として行われており、今回は県内 4 大学のさまざまな学部からおよそ 30 名の学生が参加しました。 1 日目は午前中に育種場へ。どのように林木の苗木が生産・育種がされているのかを、見学してきました。午後は演習林へ移動し、林内をハイキングしながら樹木について学びました。 2 日目は森林観察と林業体験。森林観察では天然林と人工林の比較を通して森林管理について学びました。林業体験では恒例の枝打ち・間伐体験を行いました。昨年は林業体験が大好評でしたが、今年はちょっとたいへんそうでしたかね。しかし雨が降る前に全日程終えることができ、ほっとしました。 （栗） On 8/26-27, "Fujinokuni Studies: Agriculture and forestry" was held at the Tenryu Branch. 先週 8/19 からの 5 日間、森林保全管理業務インターンシップ（前半）が行われました。 http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=680 今年度は天気に恵まれ、演習林内での業務体験を 3 日間みっちり行い、天竜地域の企業であるフジイチさんと天竜フォレスターさんに 1 日ずつおじゃましました。最終日の南アルプスブランチでの活動もちょうどお昼だけ晴れたとのことで、十分満喫していただけたのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） Internship for Forest Management and Conservation was held last week! http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=680&lang=en Students thoroughly experienced the work in the experimental forests in Tenryu and South Alps for three days and visited the companies in the Tenryu area, Fujichi and Tenryu Forester, one day each. シカ調査のための調査プロットと自動撮影カメラ、自動録音装置を南アルプスブランチに設置してきました。今回も糞や足跡、樹皮食の痕など新しめのフィールドサインを目にしましたが、実際の密度がどれくらいなのかは月末の富士南アルプス生態学実習でわかるかも（？） （栗） We set research plots, camera traps, and automatic recording devices for deer research in the South Alps Branch. We saw new field signs such as feces, footprints, and debarked trees this time too. We will try to estimate deer density in the practice in Forest Conservation at the end of this month. Kurihara

先週 7/24 に天竜ブランチで環境フィールド科学演習が行われました (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=663)。 東海大学より 13 名が参加し、物質循環をテーマとした実習を行いました。午前は飯尾先生が担当で、土壌や林内雨・樹幹流の pH を測定し、森林内の物質循環について学びました。午後は今泉先生が担当で、西阿多古川での流量測定を行い、河川での物質輸送について学びました。 午前中はよい天気でしたが、午後は急な強い雨でたいへんでした。みなさま風邪を引いていないとよいのですが……。 （栗） Practices in Environment Field Science was held at Tenryu Branch last week (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=663&lang=en). Thirteen students from Tokai University learned material cycling in forest and riverine ecosystems. We measured the pH of the soil, stemflow, and throughfall in the forest in the morning and the flow rate in the NishiAtago River in the afternoon. 7 月前半は静岡県立農林大学校の学生が天竜ブランチを訪れ、計 6 日間実習を行いました。林業経営II (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=2666) の一環です。 今年は人文社会科学部の横田宏樹先生にも森林の地域資源化について講義していただきました。演習林内では、森林の立地や樹木の成長について学んだり毎木調査を行ったりしました。 ハイライトは、ドローンで撮影した画像から材積計算を行う方法を学んだことでしょうか。実際に毎木調査を行った林分をドローンで撮影した写真から Context Capture と QGIS を用いて樹高と樹冠投影面積を測定する方法を学びました。もしかしたら現地でがしがし毎木調査したほうが楽だと感じたかもしれませんが、天気やフィールド経験に左右されにくいのは 1 つの強みですね。 とにかく暑かった昨年と打って変わって雨続きでしたが、演習林ならではの有意義な講義・実習になったのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） We held a practice for students from Shizuoka Prefectural Agriculture and Forestry College (http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=2666&lang=en). 先週末はフィールド科学演習 II （その 2）が天竜ブランチにて行われました！ （http://fc-forecol.agr.shizuoka.ac.jp/wordpress/?p=1125） 今回は後半組の農学部 1 年生 48 名が参加しました。前半組と同様、1 日目に森林観察と枝打ち・間伐体験、2 日目にオリエンテーリングを行いました。前日夜更かししたヒトもいたせいか、オリエンテーリングは結構たいへんそうでしたが、森を隅々まで歩いて天竜の森を楽しんでもらえたのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at Tenryu Branch last weekend! As before, They observed forests and had experiences of pruning and thinning trees on the 1st day and enjoyed orienteering on the 2nd day. They may have found the orienteering pretty hard but enjoyed the Tenryu forest. Kurihara
