11/29-30 に国際オンラインセミナー International Seminar on Integrating Field Monitoring and Management Towards Sustainable Ecosystem Services in Asian Forests が開催されました。アジア 6 か国から約 50 名の参加があり、特別講義・学生発表・グループワーク・演習林紹介など盛りだくさんの 2 日間となりました。対面での国際セミナーはいまだに難しい状況ですが、大学間でも学生間でも国際交流を進めるよい機会になったのではないかとおもいます。ご参加いただいたみなさまありがとうございました！ （栗） International Seminar on Integrating Field Monitoring and Management Towards Sustainable Ecosystem Services in Asian Forests was held online on November 29-30. There were about 50 participants from 6 Asian countries, and the two days were filled with special lectures, student presentations, group work, and virtual tour of university forests. Although it is still difficult to have international seminars in person, we believe that this was a good opportunity to promote international exchange among universities and students. 11/20 に天竜ブランチでふじのくに学（農林業）が行われました。 午前中にはマツ林の除伐と地かき（かき起こし）作業を行いました。広葉樹が侵入して暗かった林も、作業後にはすっかり明るくなりました。 午後にはどんぐりと動物の関わりを学ぶメニューに再挑戦しました。今回はネズミがマテバシイとクヌギの堅果を持ち去る様子がばっちり撮影されていました。最後にヒノキの植栽体験をしました。木を植える体験はなかなかできないということで、授業後アンケートではいちばん好評でした。 実習名のとおり、林内作業の多い 1 日でした。外で活動する機会も減っているためか、夕方にはみなさんおつかれの様子でしたが、それだけ充実した 1 日になったのではないかとおもいます。 （栗） On November 20th, Fuji-no-Kuni-Gaku (Agriculture and Forestry) was held at the Tenryu Branch. In the morning, we went to a pine forest to clear broad-leaved trees and conducted scarification. The forest, which had been dark due to the encroachment of broad-leaved trees, became completely bright after the work. In the afternoon, we tried again to learn about the relationship between acorns and animals. This time, we were able to observe rodents taking away acorns of Lithocarpus edulis and Quercus acutissima. Finally, we experienced planting cypress trees.
