オンラインセミナー森と山の科学 #1「森林により土砂災害を防ぐことができるのか？」が開催されました。講演のあとの 30 分間の質疑応答でも非常に多くの質問があり、有意義なセミナーとなったとおもいます。ご参加いただいた 27 名の皆様ありがとうございました。

天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 2）が実施されました（https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604）。今回も農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。雨天続きでしたが、幸運にも当日は降られずに済みました。 その 2 ということで、メニューは前回と同じです。午前は、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。今週はシデムシが埋めたネズミ死体がほぼ分解されており、生物遺体の分解についてより実感できる内容となりました。クロシデムシもなかなかの迫力でした（ベイトとして使った鶏肉の臭いに辟易としている感じはありましたが……）。 午後は、森林観察・チェーンソー体験・ドローン操縦体験を行いました。森林生態、林業活動、そして最新の森林モニタリング方法まで、1 年生向けの導入実習としては非常に盛りだくさんな内容となりました。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch last Saturday (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604). Eighteen 1st year students from the Faculty of Agriculture participated in the practice. In the morning, we learned about animal scavenging and decomposition of animal carcasses in forest ecosystems. We saw a mouse carcass that was buried by burying beetles was almost decomposed in the soil and observed burying beetles (Nicrophorus concolor & Nicrophorus quadripunctatus) caught in traps. 先日の実習で設置した自動撮影カメラにアライグマが写りました（写ってしまいました）。アライグマは特定外来生物に指定されており、全国的に分布を拡大しているようですが、浜松でも北区から水窪まで目撃情報があり、浜松市も防除に取り組んでいます。 （栗） A raccoon (Procyon lotor) was filmed by an automatic camera set in the Tenryu branch. Raccoons are designated as an invasive alien species, and their distribution is expanding nationwide. Hamamatsu City is also working to control them. Kurihara

上阿多古小学校の 3-4 年生を対象に、哺乳類をテーマにした出張授業を行いました（2021/5/13）。あらかじめ校内に設置しておいた自動撮影カメラで撮影された動画をチェックし、人里に住んでいる哺乳類を学びました。 みなさん校庭に大量のノウサギの糞が落ちているのを毎日目にしている、と聞いていましたが、ノウサギが草本を食べている様子がばっちりカメラに写っていました。ほかにも、深夜に撮影されたタヌキやハクビシン、昼間に撮影されたイタチなど、ふだん目にすることのできない哺乳類が活動する様子を見て授業は盛り上がりました。 （栗） We conducted a special class on mammals for 3rd and 4th graders of Kamiatago Elementary School. The students learned about mammals living around human settlements by checking the videos taken by the automatic camera set in the school beforehand. 上阿多古小学校の 1-2 年生を対象に、昆虫をテーマにした出張授業を行いました（2021/5/13）。あらかじめ設置しておいたトラップを一緒に回収し、学校にどんな昆虫がすんでいるかを調べました。バナナ、さなぎ粉、イカ、エリンギをベイトとして使い、餌によってとれる昆虫が異なることを学びました（センチコガネやハサミムシ、ケシキスイ、ハネカクシ、キノコムシなどがとれました）。 みなさん最初はベイトの匂いに驚いていたものの、興味を持ってじっと昆虫を観察してくれました。ペットボトルでつくるトラップは作成が簡単なので、自由研究などでも活用してもらえたらとおもっています。 小学校のブログでも紹介してくださっていますのでぜひご覧ください（先生が撮ってくださった写真がたくさん載っているので様子がよくわかります）。 https://weblog.city.hamamatsu-szo.ed.jp/kamiatago-e/2021/05/01664/ （栗） We gave a special class on insects to the first and second graders of Kamiatago Elementary School. We collected traps that we had set beforehand and investigated insects living in the school. The students learned that different insects can be caught depending on the bait (banana, chrysalis powder, squid, and mushrooms). Although everyone was surprised by the smell of the bait at first, we were grad to see that they were interested in the insects and observed them closely. Kurihara

天竜ブランチでフィールド科学演習 II（その 1）が実施されました (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604)。 今回は農学部の 1 年生 18 人が参加しました。天気にも恵まれ、日帰りながらも充実した実習となりました。 午前は、動物による腐肉食と動物遺体の分解について学びました。ハクビシンがネズミ遺体を食べる様子や、ペットボトルトラップで捕まえたヨツボシモンシデムシを見ることができました。今回はネズミの遺体が地中に埋まっている様子も見ることができました。 午後は、森林観察をしてさまざまな植物を学んだり、チェーンソー利用を体験したり、森林調査のためのドローン操縦を体験したりしました。葉の匂いやチェーンソーの振動、ドローンの便利さなど、演習林に来たからこそ実感できることはたくさんあるのだと改めて感じました。 （栗） Practice of Field science II was held at the Tenryu Branch last Saturday (https://wwp.shizuoka.ac.jp/agr-fc-forecol/?p=604).
