寒くなってきました。天竜フィールドのヤブムラサキが、かわいい実をつけています。 It is getting cold recently. Callicarpa mollis, deciduous shrub widely distributing in the South of the Tohoku region, bears pretty purple fruits in Tenryu field.

リンドウ。天竜フィールドの林道沿いにたくさん咲いていました。 Japanese gentian (Gentiana scabra). There are a lot of gentian blooming along the forestry roads in Tenryu field.

天竜フィールドのヒノキ一枚板をくり抜いて作ったお盆です。私も欲しいのですが、製作が大変なために残念ながら非売品です（一応値段は設定されていて、2000円です）。静大の事務や公共スペースに提供する予定だそうです。でも、熱心にお願いすれば作ってもらえるかも？ ＊明日金曜日の販売ですが、お昼から15:00頃までだそうです・・・短いですね。 Introduction of wooden products 4: Hinoki tray. This tray is produced by hollowing a single hinoki board. Urethane coating is applied. It's very nice and thus I also want to buy it. But unfortunately it is not for sale because making tray requires much time and effort. This tray will be provided for public space of Shizuoka University. But, if you ask to technician eagerly, you may be able to get it.  *Announcement: Opening hours of tomorrow's shop are from 12:00 to 15:00.

南アルプスフィールドに生育している樹木で作ったコースターです。その数なんと30種類！カンバやヒメシャラ、ナツツバキなど、お店では絶対に手に入れることのできない樹種ばかりです。樹種によって異なる木目を眺めているだけでも楽しいです。一枚50円。販売は、明日金曜日の静岡大農学部です。是非この機会に。 Introduction of wooden products of Field Center (Forest section) 3: Coaster made of trees grown in SouthAlps field. 30 different tree species were used! You can't get these rustic coasters at any shops. It's fun to just see different patterns and textures. 50 yen each. The products I introduced here are sold only on this Friday (tomorrow) at entrance of Agricutural Faculty of Shizuoka University. Don't miss it!

これも天竜フィールドのヒノキで作られています。ウレタンが表面に塗布されているので、汚れがつきにくいです。もちろん、技術職員の手作りです。柿渋を塗った茶色とヒノキそのものの色を活かした２種類があります。１つ200円です（100円だったかもしれません、適当でスミマセン）。研究室などにお一ついかがでしょうか。  Introduction of wooden products of field center (forest section) 2: Japanese teacup saucer made of hinoki cypress grown in Tenryu field. Urethane coating is applied to prevent stain. Two color is prepared: Brown one is colored with persimmon tannin and white one is plain. The price is 200 yen perhaps (sorry I am not sure, it may be 100 yen). Would like to have one for your home or laboratory?

森林生態系部門ではフィールドの木材を利用した製品や小物を生産・販売しています。その中のひとつが天竜フィールドの間伐材を利用したまな板です。すべて技術職員による手作りです。 サイズは大（約45cm×23cm×厚さ3cm）、中、小の3種類で、静岡大ロゴの焼き印が入っています。価格はそれぞれ、1500円、1000円、700円です。11月15日からの静大祭で販売予定です。割れや節の多いディスカウント品（200円～）もありますよ～。どうぞ、この機会に～。 Introduction of wooden products by forest section of field center: Chopping boards made of thinned hinoki cypress that are handmade by technical staff. There are three different sizes, large (about 45 * 23 cm, 3 cm thickness), medium and small, and the price is 1500, 1000 and 700 yen, respectively. Logo of Shizuoka University is marked on the corner. You can buy them in Shizuoka University festival that is held from 15th to 17 th Nov. You won't miss it.

サワガニ。天竜フィールドにたくさんいます。雨が降ると活動的になり、宿舎の中にまで入ってきます。この前は実験室の片隅にじっとしてこちらを伺っていました。まもなく冬ですが、石の下にじっと隠れて越冬するそうです。 Japanese freshwater crab (Geothelphusa dehaari) in Tenryu field. We can often see it walking in forests, roads and even in houses. It becomes active on rainy days. In last week, it entered into the laboratory and watched me from a corner of the room.  Winter is coming. They pass the winter with remaining in small spaces between rocks.
